Very Large Charming Print ‘My Boy’ Mother and Boy Parting in Top Quality Frame and Mount
This is delightful print titled My Boy. I cannot work out from the signature who the painter was. His christian name is Fred but I have found the surname difficult to make out.
It is a charming painting of a loving mother kissing her boy goodbye at school. On the gate it says House School and you can see the other schoolchildren and schoolmaster to the other side of the gate. By the gate is a cricket bat.
The original painting would be Victorian.
It is of the highest quality hand and would date from the 1970s which was when these black and gold frames were so prevalent in the framing industry.
The frame is made of wood with a moulded covering and the black and gold finish.
The print sits within a dark pink mount which is thick and bevelled. The frame is glazed.
There is a thick boarded backing and eyelets and some wire for hanging.
This is very much a high end quality product. There's a very good weight to it and the frame is entirely robust. I would consider the condition to be very good.
