Unusual Hybrid Art Deco Art Nouveau Frameless Wall Mirror
This is such an unusual wall mirror and I have to say personally I have over 200 mirrors for sale on Etsy and this is my favourite.
What I love about it is it's simplicity and the hybrid design, whereupon it is very clearly an art deco mirror but the decoration has a real instinctive looking art nouveau decoration.
The mirror is imposed on the thick backing board and held in place by 6 chrome clips, which hold it in place very securely. There is a chain to the back for wall attachment.
The thick glass is in very good condition and is also well preserved for the age. Frameless mirrors are prone to get scratched quite badly as they are moved about they are generally flush with other objects and stored badly. There is a very tiny cloudy area to the top right but trust me on this, for a frameless mirror the condition is excellent.
The decoration has such an art nouveau look to it, but this was definitely made in the 1930s so presumably whoever designed it was an enthusiast of the art nouveau genre.
A very unusual mirror in very good condition.
