Unique Vintage Victorian Painted Glazed Glass Display Cupboard Green with Mirror Top and Interior Decoupage.

I bought this as you see it so will describe the finish as best I can. It certainly seems that the original finish has been painstakingly removed as much of the paint seems to be on bare wood.
It is difficult to describe the paint as it seems to be both slightly shiny and slightly dull in places. The coverage is not a blanket green and there are areas where the wood underneath shows through to varying degrees so I would describe the finish very much as shabby chic.
It has a really sweet mirrored top to it and an unusual beautiful glazed curved fronted door.
Inside are two shelves, the inside being nice and deep. The shelves are removable and it looks like the shelf supports are simply pinned in to the side so it looks like you could adjust the heights should you wish to. The lock does work but not brilliantly however of course the key is perfect to use as a handle.
That door is not closed completely flush with the bottom part of it settling a centimetre within the cupboard and the top part of it uniform with the front.
The inside has been wallpapered, a design which you may well not like so you can paint it or I add your own wallpaper, although because of the depth in all honesty it doesn't really show too much but I think the colours go quite nicely with the green and other different hues of brown from wood to leave a satifactory shabby chic finish.
It has what looks like a newer piece of word that has been screwed to the back and I have to say slightly untidily to be perfectly transparent about the piece, however of course when it goes against a you will not see that and the main thing is t is very secure.
I think this is an outstanding piece of furniture and I love the way some who's upcycled it into something really funky and contemporary. It is a great size in that it is not too wide but deep so can accommodate many things in a small space. Perfect for china and glasses etc
This is not a pristine and perfect piece of furniture, it is a beautifully upcycled and age worn piece of vintage furniture full of life character and some minor blemishes.
