Unusual Metal Silver Brass and Painted Oval Decorative Wall Mirror with Bevelled Glass
You don't see very many mirrors of this traditional Victorian look made of metal.
It is either late Victorian or Edwardian.
The frame is made of brass which had a plated chromium surface
Somebody has, or rather a number of people have, over the years painted this and the final surface is a cream gloss.
Someone has decided decided to strip this down to the bare metal to the front of the frame. What you see behing the paint is the original brass frame and much of the chrome plate has eroded, so you have a mishmash of brass and silver which I think looks fantastic.
There are some other chips to the old paint, particularly to the very back and you'll see that when the front part was stripped, some of the paint to the top edges to the side were removed as well, so please make sure you take a good look at all of the images and utilise the zoom in facility to check the condition.
It has the original bevelled glass, which is in general very good condition. but it does have a scratch to it which is a few inches long.
It has a metal backing with four islets so it can be hung either way once the chain has been a adjusted.
