This is a truly remarkable drinks trolley — one of the best I’ve come across in terms of quality and features. Over the years, I’ve sold nearly fifty of these, but I’ve never had one quite like this. It’s not just a standard 1970s decorative piece; it’s a high-end version, and that makes all the difference.
The trolley features a lightweight tubular electroplated gold frame, accented with a fluted handle and decorative legs. These legs, along with the internal nuts, securely hold the trays in place, ensuring both style and stability.
The trays are a standout feature. Made of board with a melamine covering, they break away from the typical faux-wood design of the era. Instead, they sport an almost 1970s Danish tile-inspired pattern, which adds a retro-modern charm. The trays are also galleried, keeping everything safely in place.
Adding to its versatility, the trolley includes three removable bottle holders. Interestingly, the smaller middle sections are perfectly sized for candle lights, adding a unique flair for entertaining or decor. The castors, made from a combination of plastic, rubber, and metal, glide smoothly and function exceptionally well.
In terms of condition, it’s hard to fault this piece. Aside from a few minor surface marks, it’s in close-to-excellent shape, a testament to its quality and care.
Beyond its role as a drinks trolley, this piece is incredibly versatile. It could serve as a quirky side table, a media stand, or even a stylish storage solution, with the lower platform offering plenty of functionality.
