Three Large Vintage Original Chinese Brush Painting Watercolours Panda Bamboo Effect Wooden Frames
The price is for the three. They originally retailed at £30-40 each a fair while ago.
These pictures are painted in the traditional Chinese manner. There is no pre-drawing and every stroke is done with the brush. The aim is to give an impression of the subject as seen in the blink of an eye.
They are painted on xuan paper, which is as thin as tissue paper and very absorbent, using hand-ground ink and Chinese colours. Landscapes are painted from foreground to background.
The bamboo effect wooden frames are glazed with an eyelet and string to rear for hanging.
Delightful quality mottled thick card mount to two of them and a red one to the other.
The artist is Thelma Barber, a member of the Chinese Brush Painting Society.
