The original fan leaf paintings were done in tempera and watercolour on fine leather. They depicted ancient scenes and settings of Rome. The Roman School of artists completed these artworks in the latter part of the 18th Century. These three prints depict the Roman Forum, Pantheon and I believe the Tomb of Caecilia Metella. Tomasso Bigatti most likely painted these scenes - he was a prolific 18th century painter and his work is highly collectible. These prints are in great condition, helped by the fact that they have been professionally framed at some point . They have super deep blue mount (in addition to the cream mount and gilt edging) which complements the rich colours of the prints themselves. They are all framed in gold painted wooden frames and are glzed. There is signs of wear to the frames commensurate with age, and general minor wear. BUt all three are ready to hang and will look superb as a set in a room. Will need a wipe down from storage.
