Tall and Thin Lacquered Brass Standard Lamp c1900/10
Genuine vintage brass standard lamp.
Made in the early 20th century.
I have left the finish as I found it. It is both fashionable these days to maintain the current age-worn finish as well as the traditional gleaming shiny gold finish as was intended. Depends on what suits your home. So, I am leaving you with the option of cleaning it up yourself.
It is made of brass with a lacquered finish.
It was common during these metal processes to add a darker shade to edges, you often see this on fire guards from this period, which you can see by the turnings above the base.
Please take a good look at the images as the finish is very much age worn. There are scratches and marks to the lacquer.
Leaves a genuine delightful, aged finish.
It is wired and it does work, but the wiring is old. It is an upgrade on the original wiring but looks to have been added latterly. The flex is long and there is a working switch halfway down. Well worth getting it checked over by an electrician,
