The condition of this fenderr is absolutely superb. It is so beautifully preserved. You can see in the image of the back all of the white from metal polish which has kept this in such excellent condition for maybe up to 150 years.
It has a delightful pierced design which is ornate and decorative without being too over the top and flashy, just right for a nice piece of Victorian fireplace décor.
It is a lovely gold colour which has a real warmth to it.
Made of solid brass, it is of very high quality. As with all fenders like this the top central part does lean back slightly where over the years owners have leant on it to attend to their fires.
This would make wonderful addition to your fireplace.
