Superb Vintage Retro Metal and Wood Standard Lamp

A beautiful and top quality 1950s retro standard lamp.
The appearance is superb with the rounded base which sits on three brass feet.
A metal column is broken in the middle by the wooden shaped and fluted decoration.
It is a classic 50s look and the standard is of fine quality.
To the edges of the base you'll see there are a line of marks. We think these are almost certainly caused by a Hoover bashing into it over the years, which of course is a shame but also quite an interesting quirk.
There is 18 foot of the original wiring which in practical terms is fantastic if you have a large room and not many plugs. However in this case the plug has been taken off which would suggest there may be a problem with the bayonet and I would certainly replace the bayonet which is loose. Generally a removed plug indicates a fault in the wiring.
So I'm selling this as a beautiful retro stand lamp that is not working and will need rewiring.
