Superb Vintage Mid 20th Century Carved Oriental Style Standard Lamp Superb Carved Vintage Hardwood Oriental Standard Lamp. This is a superb early to mid 20th century standard lamp. Almost certainly from the Far East.
It is made of a hardwood native to the area that I cannot recognise, suffice to say it is a wood of very high quality.
All you can really do is admire the quality carving and consider the amount of skill, time and general craftsmanship that has gone into creating essentially a wooden masterpiece. The detail is astounding.
I guess because it is a very precious lamp it has been really well looked after and the upshot of that is it is in very good condition with no customary problems to report. There is some spotting to the upper part of the column which seems to be original, so please take a good look at all of the images and utilise the zoom facility to get a good look.
It unscrews into sections and will be sent unattached.
The electrics are in good order and it works fine. Long 14ft lead.
This is certainly not one of those lamps that you will look at in five years time and think I'm going to change that I've had enough of it, this is definitely a keeper so well worth getting a beautiful lampshade for cherishing Height, to the top of the bayonet150 cm
