This is a superb late Victorian / Edwardian occasional table. It is an amazing spectacle to look at with the 6 shaped legs and stretchers going to the centre surface.
The finish to this was worn and not worth refinishing so I sanded a lot of the original finish off, applied two coats of undercoat and three top coats of Farrow and ball Wimborne white estate eggshell which has a soft sheen to it.
As you can see I have then sanded many of the edges so that parts of the original finish show through to leave a contemporary shabby chic appearance.
As with any hand painted furniture there will be minor imperfections to the finish and with any piece of old furniture likewise. However, as you will see in the images, the condition is very good.
Design and construction of this table means that due to the thinness of the legs there is and probably always has been a really very slightm wobble and is only to be expected however the table is still very robust and due to the quality construction is still maintained in very good order
