Super large metal vase or planter or bucket or storage stand. Original painted metal container from 1900s - possibly a milk container?

A very unique item - the bottom half of what would have been a metal container, likely from early to mid 20th century. Possible a milk container given the gubbings for affixing a lid and the two handles to enable easier pouring? Intriguing.
We are now left with a wonderfully interesting painted metal pot or bucket on the large side. It is a great option for storing tall items, displaying tall items or for plants.
Possibly putting some sort of lifting matters eg piece of wood inside the bucket and to then rest a plant pot on? or actually plant a plant directly in it as it has the space for a plant to really dig its roots in - it is likely to be fine in the outdoors or inside, as it is made of a solid metal. Could you drill holes in the bottom if you wanted to use it for a planter?
Of course it could be used indoors for the display of wonderful long sticks or dried flowers and plants - something very statement like in the corner of a room or next to the fireplace? Long fronds splayed out the top?
And of course there is always the general use for things like umbrellas, walking sticks etc. So very versatile!
Lovely solid metal material with authentic signs of wear, but no breaks to weaken its structure. Painted in a deep rust colour which gives it a very earthen neutral appeal.
