This is a beautiful early 20th century standard lamp. It is of fine quality being made of a hardwood, beech I think.

The white/very light cream finish is original, and I could only assume over the years the finish eroded and someone has subsequently sanded many areas down to expose the word and leave the wonderful and contemporary distressed shabby chic finish that you see.
This lamp does work and the electrics seem to be fine but get checked out or upgrade should you wish to.
On bun feet, this stands well and will look amazing with the right lampshade.
Good vintage condition with natural wear commensurate with age, adding character and authenticity.
