Hilda Chancellor Pope 1913-1984. Hilda is a recognised artist and there is much information on her on Google.
Understandably so, the quality is superb. A totally quintessential English village vista. What is noticeable are the pink hues in the painting and what is lovely is how these are picked up in the mount. This is a top quality double mount.
The picture is set within a wooden frame that has been covered in a plaster or gesso and the original cream finish with gold and blue trims to the aperture and elsewhere.
The painting is dated 1978 and certainly that is when it was framed.
As well as the watercolour you will pick up in the images the addition of some pencil or other commensurate medium.
This is a superb painting of the highest quality.
There are a few marks to the frame, other than that the condition is very good and it is glazed.
Boarded backing and ready to hang.
