Stunning Age Worn Hand Painted Victorian Vintage Folding Screen Stork or Heron.
Please excuse my ignorance as I'm not sure if this is a stork or a heron, a stork methinks?
But I can say for certain is it is a beautiful oriental late Victorian folding screen.
The majestic bird, flowers foliage and stream are all hand painted and are exquisite.
As the title suggests, this is age worn. There are three tears to the paper, one to middle of the left hand and two either side of the bottom.
There is a green material worn surround and to the aperture of that gold filament.
To the outside of the green material is the wooden outside strip and to the four corners is a decorative brass bracing plate.
The hinge is a full length piece of material, although this is worn slightly to the upper part this is still in good working order.
Paper backing which is damage in many places, but interestingly if you look inside at the top corner where there is a hole you can see oriental writing which is absolutely charming.
