Small Heavy Vintage Victorian Iron Fender Fireplace Fire Guard.
Showing here is a very sweet original Victorian iron fender.
Obviously, it is very plain looking and unusual in that respect as normally fenders from the Victorian. Were very ornate.
I have left the finish as I found it with minor surface rust so you can leave as is in the lovely age worn organic form or you can blacken or oil.
The central metal strip would have been for resting items on.
Foot to the front would be to stop it tipping forward if it was leaned on.
This is well made and very good quality, the plainness makes it very suitable for any small fireplace and should fit in with any of your fireplace décor.
