Small and lovely vintage alabaster table lamp - working

A wonderful small table lamp made out of alabaster stone. Creamy white and matt. Superb veins and mottling in the stone. Lovely rounded shapes in this small lamp - could be a perfect bedside table lamp.

Many alabaster lamps had originating stone from Mediterranean countries like Portugal or Italy, and were likely carved into shape there. The assembly however of turning them into lamps seemed to happen in the UK - as per this lamp.

Likely a 1980s lamp - late retro and quirky. Came with an Empire shaped shade which unfortunately could not be salvaged. Would look lovely with the same or something more contemporary.

In great condition! Some slight yellowing on the base which does actually rub off, I might have just missed some: occasional other marks all commensurate with age. Sold as working hit has not been professionally tested.

Size : 20cm tall incl fitment, and 8cm diameter at widest part
