This is an outstanding vintage set of four Windsor wheelback chairs.
These chairs feature an iconic design that I believe originated in Windsor, England. Due to their popularity, they were mass-produced in the 1960s and 1970s for pub furniture. As a result, they were built to be incredibly strong and durable.
They are made from beech, a high-quality hardwood, and the joints remain robust. These chairs are very solid and heavy.
I purchased them with their current finish, which is a very light grey with a mid-sheen appearance. It seems that the person who upcycled them put in considerable effort to prepare the old finish beforehand, as the paint has been expertly applied. It will not flake or chip easily.
The distressed shabby chic look is particularly practical for chairs, as any knocks or dirt are not too noticeable. The finish is of a high standard, making these chairs both tough and stylish.
When we bought them, they had years of use and had not been cleaned for a long time. However, their finish is so durable that a simple spray with household cleaner and a good wipe-down was enough to restore them. These are highly functional and easy-to-maintain chairs.
They have a very attractive distressed finish where areas have been lightly sanded to expose the light wood and parts where the dark stain remains, underneath.

This will be delivered by hand by a proper furniture courier.
Delivery is free to mainland England and Wales only.

This will cost us between £60-80 so if you wish collect from Lewes in East Sussex we will refund the saved courier charges.
The couriers will arrange a day and time window with you.
Delivery is to the front door. Should the item be large the courier will need a hand your end or contact us and we will arrange a more expensive two man delivery.
It will take about 2 weeks.
