Another superb vintage fine bone china dinner service by Royal Doulton. Produced in the late 1990s to early 2000s, this service is elegant, luxurious and yet understated. Wonderful white china, with a distinctive design of a green marbled band adorned with scrolls and accented with 22-karat gold trim. Much suited to a special occasion. All in very good condition - this is a service for 6 to 8 persons depending on what items you wish to use. 37 pieces in total incl 8 dinner plates, 8 cups and 8 saucers, tea pot/coffee pot, two jugs, two sugar or other bowls, and 6 side plates/cake plates.
A wonderful set to use yourself or to gift. Delightful in its charm and quality - as mentioned above, perfect for a special occasion due to its delicate nature, but to be honest I also think we should use special dinnerware more often, otherwise all it does is gather dust in a cupboard. As a service, this would work well in this regard.
The pieces are in very good condition, but I must note the following : one dinner plate has a black mark on it which I have been unable to remove, 1 cup has a tiny chip in the base, 1 small jug has a tiny chip in its rim, one sugar bowl lid has a crack in it.
