Retro upcycled glass vintage table lamp

This is a quirky little thing. A transparent glass lamp base with corded wiring and a brass lightbulb fitment. Straightforward and simple in its look – and yet it has something about it. Maybe it is the quirky shape of the glass, or the way the fitment and corded flex make something so simple like glass, into a functional object. It grabbed me when I saw it for sale. And I’m glad I bought it. It would make a splendid lamp in a living room, bedroom or hallway. Just big enough to carry a decent sized shade. Clearly a retro shade would go perfectly, something bold and beautiful – or even neutral and simplistic to keep on trend with its straightforward appearance. Then again I think its versatility and colouring means it could carry off different style shades too – have a bit of fun with it. It is working but has not been professionally tested or checked.
