Retro Drawing of Venice, Italy in chrome retro frame - ink and charcoal, signed, drawing of St Marks Campanile, with gondola and canal

This is a super vintage depiction of Venice - wonderfully capturing the scenes in ink and charcoal. Likely to have been a holiday memoir picked up when someone travelled to Venice. Or perhaps it was drawn by the traveller and kept as a reminder. Either way it is a wonderful retro black and white drawing of St Mark's Campanile in the background, classic Venice gondolier and gondola in the foreground. The drawing is in very good condition and is framed in a glazed chrome metal retro frame. Ready to hang.

Unfortunately one can't make out the signature, but it is there in the bottom right hand corner. The drawing has some very distinctive detail to it, with some more subtle and impressionist elements too. An unusual combination but it works - detailed campanile, smudged canal and foreground building. There is probably an artistic name for the style, but alas I don't know it. I guess this mixed style is akin to retro era - elements of tradition and contemporary, pushing boundaries.

What a striking picture this would make in a retro themed room, a white space, a contemporary room. It evokes adventure and interest. It's striking colouring captures your attention. It is also a good size so big enough to be statement.

The frame has suffered a little wear - bottom corners, one side dent, some marks etc. But overall still in good condition and can easily be used as is. Ready to hang.
