Retro Copper Coffee Side Table (Gift from Tobacco Research Board, Zimbabwe, Rhodesia, African Flowers, Fynbos)

This is a unique find. Haven't seen one like it. It is a Retro Copper Table with a unique history. It is classic retro style and classic retro materials. But what is very interesting is the floral decoration and the engraving on the side.
The table top has a copper surround and a copper flat top, with glass cover (wood at the back). The legs are black wood with little metal feet. There is a super floral decoration - which I believe are African fynbos, African flowers. The reason I say this is because there is an engraving on the side from the Tobacco Research Board, Zimbabwe, for a S M Ainsworth 1967-68. Must have been an anniversary or retirement gift - in Zimbabwe (would have been Rhodesia) which has now been brought to the UK.
The table does have signs of age but is still an incredible find! The copper is pitted in places, and where the glass top is flattened onto the copper base, there is a 'smudge'. The legs and feet worn commensurate with age. Pls look at the photos - but don't be discouraged by the wear, this is a table with a story to tell and is in great vintage condition!
