Fantastic mid-century, retro lamp shade - geometric octagonal outer shape complete with woven lattice work, and an inner cylinder light diffuser made out of parchment. An off white shade in VGC. Perfect for a ceiling or table lamp shade - depending on preference.
The lattice work is done in a fine plastic or resin covered string - it is very sturdy and doesn't give in to any push. It is a wonderful geometric addition to a superb shaped shade. Finished with binding on each edge. The inner tube provides a lovely circular contrast to the lines and is a cream parchment type paper. The combination is really attractive - both looking at the shade from the side, but also at the top and bottom sides which presumably one would do if it was a ceiling shade - it is equally pleasing whichever way you look at this shade.
The materials are all an off white or cream. Worth noting that the glue used in places has yellowed with age. Handful of other marks as you would expect, commensurate with age; one of two loose fibres on the lattice, but hardly noticeable. Superb attractive mid-century, early retro shade
