Rare Set of Vintage Victorian Graduated Jugs Black with Pink Flowers Gold Decoration.
There is an indented maker's mark to the underside, however it is too vague to decipher.
They are late Victorian and I would guess central European.
There are no chips or cracks. They are not pristine either, The gold decoraion has worn a little and there are some surface mars where the black finish has been compromised and you can see the white of the ceramic underneath.
Not to talk them down though. It is very unusual to find a set this old and on the whole the decoration, some of which is hand painted is wel preserved and in the main the god decoration is still very vibrant.
To the inside top rim of the main jug there is a maker's blemish, just a sort of indented thin line 2 cm long. Again only visible to the inside.
These are beuatiful display pieces and with black now quite a fashionable vintage chic colour, very contemporary.
