This small vintage Italian alabaster table lamp is a fine example of mid-century decorative lighting. Hand carved from genuine alabaster stone, it retains its original maker’s label marked “Genuine Alabaster – Made in Italy”. The natural golden hues and warm veining give this lamp a striking presence, while the classical urn-shaped form and stepped square base make it a timeless piece for the home. It is sold as working.
Dating to the mid 20th century (c.1950s–1970s), this lamp reflects Italian craftsmanship at its finest. The smooth polished surface allows the natural translucence of alabaster to catch the light beautifully, creating a soft glow when illuminated. The natural colours in the stone are truly remarkable - yellow, cream, grey and brown.
The lamp remains in very good vintage condition, with age-related patina and minor marks consistent with its history. It retains its vintage wiring and will be sent as working with an updated plug.
