Wonderful wintery, sensual water colour painting by British 20th century artist, K.M. Boyd. Is signed on the painting and on the rear it has a handwritten label which says "Down a country lane in County N". Which County N could it be referring to? Clearly one with some mountains, and lots of rural landscape - totally beautiful. You can imagine the conversation between the adult and the child as they return back to the cottages with firewood. Probably looking forward to a brew and warming up by the fire. The colours are muted and bring the cold air an country life to life. In a glazed vintage white wooden and grey frame. Ready to hang.
The water colour itself is in very good vintage condition. It has stood the test of time and has only some signs of foxing in the top half of the painting. The rest seems fine. The foxing is not that noticeable - pls see photos. The glass is intact and the frame is good, it does show some age with knocks and some paint rubbed off etc. But is perfectly fine for displaying straight away.
