Quirky French Upcycled Glazed Storage or Display Cupboard – Stripped Glass Shelf Clock Conversion

A very unusual and delightful mid-20th-century French cupboard conversion, originally a clock case. This piece would have originally featured a clock face at the top and a pendulum mechanism in the lower section. At some point, the workings have been removed and replaced with a thick glass shelf, making it perfect for use in a kitchen or bathroom.

The cabinet is made of solid wood, likely a fruitwood, which was commonly used in vintage French furniture of this era. It is high quality, with thick wooden planks for the backing, and still retains its original metal plate for wall attachment.

This cupboard is in very good condition, having recently been stripped and polished. There are two small splits in the wooden top face panel at approximately 1:00 and 5:00, which can be seen in the images, but apart from that, the condition is very good indeed. The door is secured by a small hinge and bracket on the left-hand side to keep it closed.
