Oak is of course one of the finest woods for traditional furniture products.
It was customary during this period for oak to be stained in a darker colour.
This therefore has a beautiful aged look and patina.
This was made during the Victorian era. It is of the finest quality and construction and I have to say very well preserved for the age.
It has the original thick glass, which you will see just below the carving to the centre, there is a blemish mark behind the glass—age-worn authenticity, I say!
The rest of the unit is pretty much faultless. The axis mechanism still works fine so it stays at your chosen setting.
The finish is in very good condition all round and the mirror is fully intact. The finish is very rich and exudes a sense of warmth.
A sign of the quality is that it has a solid oak backing to the glass, not board.
Perfect in the bedroom, hallway or bathroom.
