Pretty and Large Victorian Gold Gold Oval Decorative Wall Mirror

A stunning and elegant late Victorian oval gold mirror, full of character and vintage charm.

This beautiful piece is backed with Victorian-era pine, a traditional method that helps date its origin. The wooden frame features intricate moulded gesso decoration with its original gold finish, which remains wonderfully rich and striking. The fluted design is complemented by quarterly decorative motifs, enhancing its classic aesthetic.

While there are some areas of gesso loss, particularly on the quarterly decorations and a few missing droplets from the aperture design, these minor imperfections only add to its authentic vintage appeal. The mirror retains its original thick, bevelled glass, which has a subtle reddish spotting—further enhancing its antique character. Otherwise, the glass is in excellent condition for its age.

At the back, you’ll find two metal eyelets with metal string for hanging, though you may wish to update these to suit your preference.
