Pair of Vintage Late Victorian Carved Mahogany Chairs Red Leatherette Seats.
Here are a superb pair of late Victorian mahogany dining chairs.
They are of very high quality and beautifully made. The joints are all still very good and therefore the chairs are still very robust.
There is some wonderful decoration to the back and straight legs and simple shape which stops the chairs from being too fussy.
They have a tough glossy finish on them although as you will see in the images the edges, especially to the legs, are a little worn and the wood lighter which I think just adds a little bit of age worn authenticity.
The seats are covered in a red leatherette vinyl, I can only imagine this was done possibly mid 20th century or maybe a bit later as they are incredibly well preserved and in excellent condition. Of course the good thing with leatherette is you do not risk staining them so they can remain pristine.
However the seats are drop in and so they are therefore easy to recover.
Pairs are so useful and look great just in a living/dining room or hallway, also randomly sitting around the house. I would think these are great in the bedroom because you can sit on them for helping you dress and also for just slinging clothes on if you are one of the vast majority with the population of the UK that are rather untidy!
