Pair of Vintage Iron and Brass Fire Dogs Fireplace Fire Basket
Early to mid-20th century.
I am selling as I found them. The days of shiny copper and brass and blackened iron are not gone but an equal number of people these days seem to prefer the age worn look. So keep as they are or clean the brass and iron to your personal taste. I know, it is handy for me as I don’t have to clean and polish. In the Eighties and Nineties they would never have sold unless cleaned up but changing trends dictate it is prudent to sell as you see them.
Turned decorative brass finial to the top and a circular brass plaque below that to the fore of the dogs.
Iron has a surface rust but there is no decay.
Perfect ornamentation for your fireplace and for leaning your irons on.
