This is a lovely pair of 1980s bedside tables.
They are made of solid wood, so they are quite good quality; however, they do look mass-produced, and indeed, the lower stretchers are secured by screws that you can still see. I have priced accordingly. The upshot is there are 6 screws to the bottom that hold the stretchers in place, and the legs are bolted to the drawer and surface part by bolts within the drawer cavity. This is a relatively simple task.
All of the wood you see is solid, the drawer interior is not. However it is nicely lined with a red velvet type fabric and it runs well.
It has a distinctive dark, thick finish, which helps it maintain a very good condition.
I have applied some artistic gold acrylic paint to the upper edges to give it a little bit of style and this blends really nicely with the original brass drop handle.
There is a split one of the tops which has been filled.
Although these would have been mass produced I think they look really nice and always unusual to find an old pair of cupboards.
The thick finish to the top ensures that it is well protected.
