Obviously, they used to be the fronts to access underneath a fire basket so you can get to the cinders underneath.
It is unlikely that you will be able to find a fireplace that these will fit so I'm really selling these as a beautiful couple of pieces of decorative iron furnishings that make great quirky and interesting decorative artefacts to display.
Industrial and iron heritage pieces like these are very much in vogue and collectible these days. People love the rustic appearance and something that actually had a purpose in life rather than just a trinket or hapless piece of china to augment the decoration in their living space.
They are in good condition and intact with surface rust but no corrosion
