These chairs are a lovely example of early Victorian design, likely dating from the mid-19th century, circa 1850 to 1870. They are a beautiful matching pair of balloon-back chairs in rich, dark wood.

The wood is rosewood, a top quality and therefore very expensive wood at the time, wood.

These chairs feature classic curved top rails and elegant scroll detailing on the central back splats, a signature element of Victorian furniture. The legs are finely turned and tapered, giving them a graceful, timeless silhouette. Over the years, the polished frames have developed a beautiful patina, and the wood showcases a stunning natural grain.
