A beautiful pair of antique Edwardian dining chairs, featuring delicate lyre back carvings, turned legs, and woven cane seats. These chairs are perfect for adding a touch of classic elegance to any dining room, hallway, or bedroom. Their mahogany construction and refined detailing reflect the quality craftsmanship of the early 20th century.
The lyre motif on the backrest, a popular Edwardian design element, enhances their timeless appeal. The woven cane seats add an authentic vintage touch, providing lightweight comfort while maintaining structural integrity. These chairs are ideal for formal or decorative use.
Features
Solid mahogany frame with a lovely warm patinated finish. The wood is generally well-preserved, though there are small indentations with traces of paint, as these were hand-stripped. Around the outside of the cane, small holes remain unfilled, where the original plywood seat would have been attached.
The cane seats appear fairly recent and are in very good condition.
Lovely turned and fluted legs with subtle decorative accents.
There are signs of repair to one of the lyre backs, with evidence of glue on one of them, which is shown in the images.
Otherwise, there are minor signs of wear and small cosmetic marks consistent with age, but the chairs remain in good antique condition.
