Outstanding and Large Vintage Marble and Brass Decorative Bedside Lamp
This is a truly wonderful vintage table lamp. Most lamps like this are made of onyx, but this is made of marble and is of superb quality.
I will say at this point the lamp is in an age worn condition.
I've taken a lot of pictures so please take the time to study them well and use the zoom in facility so that you can really get a feel for the product and condition.
The brass is fine, as you would expect with old brass it is tarnished a little bit. The wiring, flex, banner and plug are in good working order still.
You'll see in the images that there are some marks to, in particular, the base and to the underneath there is a chip which as it is by where the wire goes into the base, and working on the assumption that you will want the wire poking towards the wall, this will not notice at all.
To central part of the decoration you will see there is some darker staining.
To the top there are a few surface marks but the condition is pretty good.
To be honest I have left this as I found it and I have not attempted to clean it and this will certainly clean up better than you see it in the photograph. But I am completely alive to the fact that a lot of people these days do like the condition to be age worn and I have simply left it as you say it.
Worth noting as well that the wire is a little bit grimy and would certainly benefit from a clean.
Certainly needs a little bit of work but just take a look at this beautiful lamp, which I would probably date as pre war. This is a beautiful piece of decoration and will look amazing with the right lamp shade.
Needless to say this is quite heavy and will be well anchored on whatever surface you put it on.
