A delightful small watercolour, water colour, painting of Lincoln Cathedral and Power Station. Large postcard size, but the very nicely framed in a vintage gold painted wooden glazed frame. The watercolour has muted colours in it, quite akin to the weather and light of Northern England. Almost autumnal and gentle in its subtlety.
How lovely to have a painting of these iconic buildings together - one showing the industrial strength of the North and the religious power of years gone by. The view depicted will clearly mean a lot to someone who knows Lincoln and the area around it.
The painting is labelled, dated and signed by the artist - hard to see the artists initials clearly but the label and date are clear - painted in 1985. Perhaps painted by a well know local artist?
The painting is in excellent order, the mount is thick card and has a few marks commensurate with age. The frame also has some marks and chips in the paint commensurate with age. Glazing intact and ready to hang.
A wonderful painting of a fantastic urban landscape scene. Simply lovely and perfect for display and a talking point.
