I am a real lover of retro cherub lamps. No matter what size, material or style, I think they are so delightful. This pair is no different - truly charming. Likely 1970s. Original plaster I believe, covered in a wonderful gilt antique gold coloured paint. Colouring has aged and chipped in places, so they are not uniform and very much antique looking. They are a matching pair and hold intrigue and interest - where did they come from, who owned them, what stories can they tell. Really super. They are in working order but have not been rewired nor professionally tested. They take standard bayonet lighbulbs and have original 2 core gold flex (strong advice to update the wiring), new 3 amp plug have been added.
The lightbulb fitments are different in colour - not sure why, but I think the black one might be original bakelite. They sit atop the 'candle' replica elemnts which are a little stained from age. They have felt underside to prevent scratching.
Would look absolutely stunning atop a sideboard, on two coffee or end tables in a living room, in a hallway, or entry way or as bedside lamps. Lovely neo classical vintage lamps.
