A classic retro adjustable metal desk lamp, with super detail. Likely European from the late 50s/60s. So an early retro lamp - could be from one of the well know European designers, but unfortunately no label to confirm. It has a wonderful gooseneck design for moving around, the conical head with star shaped perforations and then the atomic base with a push button on off switch. The lamp is working and has been PAT tested. It is authentically rusty as all good metal can be!
Lovely lamp - could be refurbed if you want to bring it back to original condition, or can leave as is - vintage looking. It still works perfectly well as is and has been tested so the rust on the body has no bearings on its functionality only aesthetics. The able is stained in places.
It may have been it has had some tlc already as the cone is less marked than the base and there are paint marks on the inside of the metal cone. Suggesting a hand paint job previously.
Overall the lamp is very attractive and authentically vintage! It was probably once a very expensive and must have item (you can see the original felt underside which might have seen better days, but shows how this was a quality purchase). The shape of the lamp is wonderful. You may just have to see past the rust and discoloured cable to truly appreciate it.
