Fascinating original certificate of recognition for an Alfred Bellot. Presented to him I believe by some sort of Chamber of Commerce, in recognition of his role as Deputy Mayor. The Chamber appears to have a link with French colonies or certainly French involvement in colonies. Attractive old certificate with interesting detail. All framed in an original 1930s/40s glazed frame - the frame has interesting detail too - red inlay. Does have foxing on the certificate, and the frame has signs of wear. But if you look closely at the photos and video you will see that both are very presentable and have history about them. It is ready to hang. Interesting label and stamp on the rear too. My google translate is below :
"French federation of colonials and former colonials recognized as being of public utility. recognized as being of public utility. recognition diploma for Alfred Bellot, deputy mayor. president of the commercial court of marmande"
