Oriental Chinese Metal (Pewter?) Heavy Large Lamp - 43cm tall

This is a superb piece of Oriental lampware. It is made in Hong Kong and I think could be Pewter. It is solid and exeptional quality. It has been marked over time where different owner/s have attempt to polish or shine the item. But the markings do not detract from it at all. The base has a bronze trim on it. Not sure what the symbol / shape means, but it is very very striking. Imagine this lamp with a large statement shade, patterned or plane. Very nice! I can't check if working as no plug, but although vintage this lamp is not ancient so should be working fine. The wiring and fitment look in good condition.
