Moor of Dinnett Aberdeenshire - watercolour vintage original in glazed vintage gold frame and mount - 32cm x 40cm

This original vintage watercolour is a wonderful depiction of the Scottish landscape. It captures the light, the colours, the essence of the countryside - possibly a scene in early Spring where the snow is still on the mountains, but the landscape is coming alive? leaves on teh trees, grasses in bloom. The cottage has a fire going, smoke billowing, so obviously still a tad chilly up there! It is a depiction of the Moor of Dinnet in Aberdeenshire, and a label on the back names all the relevant areas around this scene including a direction to Rob Roy's Cave, Loch Davan, MOrven. There is a signature, but I can't make out more than J Hay. It is however an excellent pastel, so I wish I could see who the artist was. It is framed in a large gold mount and gold composite vintage frame. Clearly the original frame. Glazed and ready to hang. The frame does have some knocks and bumps to it, but is still perfectly good to display. The pastel may have some foxing although hard to tell, I don't think there is. The mount is in good condition but you can see it is 'stuck' to the glass in a few places giving some marks when the light catches it - doesn't really detract from the picture, you can this in the photos.
