Mid-Century Gilt Vintage Frame with glass, and a vintage water colour painting (61cm x 44cm)

A very intriguing water colour sits in this wonderful gilt vintage frame. The watercolour looks like it could be from an Italian Lake ... the houses on the right certainly look like Italian Villas, however the flat bottom boat is a Sampan - more common in India and SE Asia. Alas Sampan like boats were used in Wales and Ireland, and so this may well be a painting of somewhere in the British Isles. Either way, this little water colour is delightful. Bright sunny and pretty - showing a magnificent mountainous background.

The painting is framed in a glorious gilt, possibly mid century glazed frame. The frame is very attractive and now with signs of age and wear and knocks and bumps is charmingly vintage. Could definitely be repurposed for another picture as it is a large frame. Currently hangs horizontally but could be altered to vertical. Glass intact and current hanging string is good. The mount is thick card and white but spotted. There is foxing to the painting and mount.

This could be a delightful vintage addition to a room as is. Charmingly bright, cheerful and attractive or you can repurpose the parts.
