Massive Vintage Pine Step Ladder Also Extends Into Full Double Ladder Shop Display. 12 ft!
This is a superb step letter. Very unusually it also extends to be a double height full length ladder. I would guess it was made in the 1950s or 1960s and is made of solid pine. It is still quite robust.
Some paint marks and general signs of wear, however I would consider the finish to be quite well preserved.
Unlike the clever but also flimsy and cheap aluminium step ladders of today this really only has one height and manoeuvrability when used as a step ladder, this is fairly standard with vintage step ladders.
The back section can be pushed up and turned into a huge double ladder which I have to say is fairly unique in the world of vintage step ladders!
As such when it is fully extended it reaches a height of 12ft. However I would certainly not recommend you use it to its fullest height where there will not be so much strength and support with the top ladder perched on the very top rung, if that makes sense!
However on the whole buyers of these ladders use them for decorative purposes as they look fantastic adorned with plants etc and it goes without saying would be fantastic as a TV film and drama props.
