Massive Vintage Gilt Gold Picture Frame Age Worn
This is a delightful and formerly a top quality gold early to mid 20th century central European picture frame.
As impressive as it is it does have some blemishes to it, hence formerly.
Is it made of pine which is very securely put together with a beautiful moulded decorative composite or gesso mouldings. Beautiful original gold finish.
Sadly to the bottom or the top, whichever way you display it, there are two large lumps of moulding missing. If you get the right colour of gold paint and paint these areas up they won't notice too badly. Otherwise, it has a lovely age worn finish which some it has been touched up with a paint not commensurate with the original finish. There are some smaller pieces damaged throughout.
However, if you're into your painting pictures framing, I'm sure there is nothing insurmountable as it is basically a solid frame.
To the back, where the glass or picture sit there should be four strips of wood that they rest within, one is missing.
Please take a good look at all of the images to check the condition as there are other minor flaws. and utilise the zoom in facility.
