A very pretty floral upholstered vanity screen or room divider. A good solid and sturdy piece, which is in lovely vintage condition. The chintzy floral fabric is really lovely - sprays of roses and other summer flowers in pinks, yellows and greens. Quite possibly a designer fabric but I can't be sure. It is padded on one side of each piece, and has some pretty binding around the edges.
The screen is quite heavy, suggesting that the underlying wood is a thick ply or mdf which has been covered in the pretty fabric and some foam. It stands well when all joined together. Due to the padding/the foam on the three pieces, I am unable to send all three attached as it doesn't fold flat. I will therefore be sending two pieces attached and the third unattached. But I will send the relevant hinges and screws which just need to be affixed to make it a three piece screen. Hope this makes sense.
I think this item was probably bespoke for the previous owner, maybe it was made to match a specific decor in a bedroom, and the piece was commissioned accordingly. Whomever made it, did a fine job. Once all assembled it is a great country chintzy floral addition to a room.
Of course, you could also repurpose on of the pieces as a headboard? So have a two piece screen and a matching headboard. It's a possibility.
As you would expect the 'bottom' of the screen pieces are a little bit dirty from standing on the ground, and similarly some ageing can be seen on the material in other places - although it is in very good condition. On the spines where the hinges join the pieces together, some of the material is slightly torn. Particularly noticeable is a tear to one edge. The other areas are somewhat hidden when the hinges are in place, but on all places you might want to stick the loose material down - easy to do.
Overall this is a super screen - 2 or 3 pieces. Solid and heavy. Wonderfully floral and fresh. Perfect for a bedroom or a floral accent to a living room.
