Magnificent Pair Victorian Vintage Brass and Iron Fire Dogs Naked Breasted Lady of the Sea.

What a wonderful pair of fire dogs these are. Fire dogs are normally utilised for resting a fire basket on but also they are often used now as well displayed simply to the side of fireplaces for resting fire irons on.
A particularly purposeful pair these are due to the unusual and delightful decoration of the breasted lady with what I can only describe as with a maritime theme.
The brass throughout has long remained devoid of metal polish application, rustic is a style which a lot of people like these days. However apart from a dent just to the first platform, on one of them, the brass is fully intact and in good condition.
The finial and flat trim behind the brass turnings are also brass before the heavy iron basket rests.
These are not only unusual but of very high quality. They are blank canvas, leave as is, which is probably what I would do, or clean them up and they could look absolutely amazing,
