This stunning washstand beautifully blends late Victorian design with elegant Art Nouveau tilework. The base appears to be made of oak with a mahogany veneer, finished with a rich dark stain and patina. The drawers are clean, oak-lined, and of fine quality, running smoothly and retaining their original metal handles. The castors have been replaced with more modern ones.

There are a few minor surface marks, but overall, the base is in very good condition. The standout feature is the exquisite black and white marble top, which is remarkably well-preserved, free from cracks or chips, a rarity for a piece of this age.

The ornate carved backing is equally impressive, adorned with a striking arrangement of Art Nouveau tiles. Some natural crazing is visible in the glaze, and one patterned tile has a fine split, though the two sections remain stable. Two tiles protrude slightly, but after careful testing, they remain firmly in place. While the backing could be removed and the tiles reset, this minor imperfection adds to the character and history of the piece.

These washstands are highly versatile, some buyers repurpose the base as a sideboard, while others use the tiled backing behind sink taps or even transform the entire piece into a unique vanity unit.
