A delightful vintage oval mirror.
The frame is made of soliud wood in the early 20th century.
It is a beautiful understated frame. You can probably see in the images at quarterly intervals the rounded frame becomes rectangle for a few inches.
I have applied two undercoats and three top coats of Farrow and Ball Wimborne White estate eggshell. Farrow and Ball- 'This just off white is named after the market town of Wimborne in Dorset and home to Farrow & Ball. Only a shade away from a pure white, the addition of the smallest amount of warm yellow pigment creates a very versatile shade which is just a little softer than All White.'
As with any hand painted pieces, expect minor flaws and idiosyncrasies to the finish.
It has a boarded backing and there are eyelets and wire for hanging.
There are some issues with the lovely thick original bevelled glass. To the right hand side the silver behiund the glass that makes the reflection has worn, look like it was left in a damp garage for a period iof time, although the frame is fine. Apart from that just normal aged wear. Adds a bit of character and authenticity.
All round this is a beautiful bespoke mirror and would look great anywhere in the house.
